Today (12 February 2025), police brought Mr. Akkorn or Plearn Phromduang, the perpetrator who poured oil and set fire to a watermelon vendor, to Bang Phong Phang Police Station for questioning, with Pol. Lt. Gen. Nopphasin Poolsawat, deputy commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, joining the questioning.
During the interrogation, Mr. Plearn claimed that he had committed the crime alone, citing a love triangle. He insisted that he had not planned the crime in advance, but had been in a fit of rage. He initially wanted to apologize to the deceased and their families.
